Kaleido Club — Privacy Policy

Kaleido Club (“Kaleido Club,” “we,” “us”) is a family learning-and-play app operated by [LEGAL ENTITY]. We built it to be ad-free, and we do not sell children’s personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices parents have. It is written to align with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar rules.

1. Parents are in control

Kaleido Club has no open sign-up. A parent or legal guardian requests access (joins the waitlist and agrees to this policy), we approve the family, and only then does the parent create profiles for their children. Children cannot create accounts themselves, and there is no public chat.

2. Information we collect

From the parent/guardian

• Email address, parent name, and the interests/age range you share when requesting access.
• A password (stored only as a salted cryptographic hash — we never store it in readable form).
• Your parental-consent confirmation and its timestamp.

About the child (entered by the parent)

• A display name or first name and an avatar the parent chooses.
• In-app progress, scores, saved creations (artwork, music), and settings.

We do not collect precise geolocation or contacts, and we do not use third-party advertising or behavioral-tracking networks.

No camera and no microphone. The app never asks for or uses your device’s camera or microphone, and it never records audio or video. Character voices are pre-generated by our own text-to-speech service from a fixed word set — nothing a child says or records is involved, because nothing is recorded. Children cannot upload photos from the device; the only pictures they can save are ones they draw in the app.

No advertising, analytics, or tracking scripts of any kind. The app loads no third-party JavaScript, no analytics or telemetry, and no ad code. Fonts and 3D libraries are served from our own servers, so simply opening the app does not report your child’s device to anyone else.

3. How we use information

• To create and manage the parent account and child profiles.
• To save progress and creations so children can pick up where they left off.
• To operate, secure, and improve the service (e.g., preventing abuse).
• To contact the parent about access, approvals, and important service notices.

4. What we do NOT do

• No third-party advertising and no ad targeting.
• We do not sell or rent personal information.
• We do not require a child to disclose more than is reasonably necessary to participate.

5. Sharing

We share personal information only where required by law, or with the service providers that help us run the app, under obligations to protect it. We keep that list deliberately short:

• Our hosting provider — runs the servers and database that store your family’s account and creations.
• Our own text-to-speech service — generates the character voices. It runs on our own infrastructure, from a fixed word set, and never receives anything a child types or records.

That is the whole list. We do not use advertising networks, analytics providers, data brokers, or any third-party tracking service, and we never sell or rent personal information.

Links to our other channels

Our parent-facing pages link to Kaleido’s other homes on the web — our YouTube channel (songs and videos) and our shop. We do not embed YouTube videos or any third-party players inside the child experience. Those services are operated by their own companies (Google/YouTube, Shopify) under their own privacy policies, and we encourage parents to supervise viewing there — for younger children, YouTube Kids may be a better fit for watching our songs.

6. Parental rights

As a parent or guardian you may review your child’s information, ask us to correct it, delete it, and withdraw consent (which ends the child’s use of the app). You do not have to email us and wait — these controls are built into the app:

• Review and download everything. Open the Parent Zone and choose Download our data. You get a single file containing your account details, every child profile, all progress and scores, and every drawing and music loop your children have saved.
• Delete one child. Each child card in the Parent Zone has a Delete button. This permanently removes that child’s profile, progress, scores, artwork and music.
• Delete everything. Delete our whole account in the Parent Zone erases every child profile, all progress and creations, your account, and the sign-up details you gave us when you requested access. It asks for your password first, and it cannot be undone.

Deletion through the Parent Zone is immediate and permanent. If you would rather we do it, or you need help, contact privacy@kaleidoslearningworld.com — we will verify you are the parent on the account before acting.

7. Data retention & deletion

We keep your family’s profiles, progress and creations for as long as your account exists, so children can pick up where they left off. We do not put an expiry on a child’s artwork.

When you delete a child profile or your whole account, that data is removed from our systems straight away and cannot be recovered — including the sign-up details you gave us when you requested access. Please download a copy first if you want to keep your children’s artwork.

8. Security

Passwords are stored only as salted cryptographic hashes and are never readable by us. Sign-in sessions use server-side tokens that expire, the app is available over HTTPS, and access to production data is limited. Every family’s data is scoped to their own account, so one family can never read another’s profiles or creations. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your family’s information.

9. Changes

If we make material changes we will update this page and, where appropriate, notify parents by email.
